As fall approaches we're all looking forward to quieter band conditions and an increase in check-ins on our nets we want to WELCOME all of our recent new participants! We are so glad to have been finding 5 to 8 new participants showing up on our 40 meter SSB nets at 00z on 7195 kHz. Our flagship net operates on 3905 kHz at 0245z (right after the Spirit Net) every night except Sunday and Thursday local time. We also operate nets on PSK (both 40 and 80 meters), CW on 80 (soon to add 40!), and RTTY (currently on hold awaiting a net coordinator to take over!). On or around October 1st our 160 meter SSB net will resume operation on 1905 kHz. Watch the website and our NATANET group on Yahoo for announcements. IF possible (quiet band) we'll get the 160 meter net going sooner! Our entry-level award is the Dirty Dozen Award and can be earned in two or three nets. Simple to earn you need to work 13 states within 13 days, submit your log through our website. If you don't have a recognized WAS award (see website for those WAS awards we accept!) you don't have to submit QSL card scans (please do NOT send original cards as we don't want to accidentally lose your cards!). We offer a QSL Bureau (operated by W5BLH in Texas) for contacts made on NATA nets. You can send SASE's direct to Barry or you can use our PayPal payment option to purchase envelopes and postage in $5.00 increments. (see the PayPal info at the bottom of the right side column here!) Please take a few minutes to explore our website, read up on our various awards, and make yourself at home! You are MOST welcome on NATA and we look forward to hearing you on our nets soon! Looking for some other fun HF operating opportunities? Try these other fine nets: OMISS (awards-based net) www.omiss.net Operating SSB nets on most of the HF bands! Nightwatch (ragchew net) www.nightwatchnet.net 3618 kHz (WAS contacts) Not a formal net, but a great place to rack up the states you need for WAS! Don't forget your local and state traffic nets, too! We look forward to hearing you on NATA SOON! |

Here's a challenge to all of you creative folks out there! We now have three regularly participating ORIGINAL NATA MEMBERS on our nets!George, AA4D, Gary, K4HTV, and Jim, KU0G. We're still looking for former NATA folks from the 70's and 80's to join us again. If you know of anyone please pass their callsigns on to KU0G and we'll email or snail-mail them with our net information and help them get active with NATA again! With that in mind I'd like to propose a special achievement award to reflect contacts with members from the original net (ca. 1977 - 1989). The name of the award should be indicative of the status of the original members. The requirements should be reflective of attaining contacts with those persons, possibly multiple bands or multiple modes as endorsements or requirements. You submission should include rough artwork of the certificate design or a good description of the certificate design if you aren't artistically inclined. We would like to put this award into effect on September 1, 2009. To submit, please email your requirements, proposal, etc. and I will create a webpage with all submissions which we will then put up for a vote on the website! Deadline for submissions will be August 20, 2009. The winning submission will get something nice! (Possibly some free QSL envelopes or something else worthwhile!) |

NATA now has an email group for sharing information and net check-in lists. To subscribe, visit groups.yahoo.com/groups/natanet. NCS operators are now uploading check-in lists from NetLogger periodically during their nets. The groups is also a good way to post your needed states, etc. Please join us by subscribing today! |

Jeff Carrier, K0JSC, has volunteered to take on the duties of PSK Net Manager. He will be running the 80m PSK nets starting the week of June 15th. Currently our PSK net operates on only 80 meters. After July 1st we will add a 40 meter version (frequency and time TBA). With PSK now covered we will also resume the CW net on 80 meters and a 40 meter CW net will be added starting in July (date, frequency, and time TBA). Dust off you keyer, paddles, or straight key and get ready to make some CW contacts! |
