Logging Your Contacts PDF Print E-mail

In order to apply for an award through N.A.T.A. you must submit log entries! We accept log files in ADIF format as well as plain text logs. If you use a logging program please save the log entries you are using for an award as a separate file. We don't want to spend hours looking through your entire log file (and probably WON'T do it!) so please send us ONLY those log entries which are needed to validate the award requirement as being met.

Logging Programs

Logging programs are widely availabe and range in price from free to quite expensive. It is enitrely up to you which route you choose to follow! You may wish to consider the file export capability of any logging program before using it. The following are packages which we KNOW to be capable of outputting suitable log files for our awards...Click any of the following program names to access the support website for each program.

NetLogger

Used by several popular nets, NetLogger features live updates of check-ins from whatever net you select to monitor. NetLogger also features QSL card printing and export options include ADIF and plain text. Registration is free and the live updating feature is extra sweet. NetLogger also includes a built-in chat client that allows all users to share keyboard-based messaging with each other. NET LOGGER IS THE OFFICIAL LOGGING PROGRAM OF NATA AND ALL NETS ARE RUN WITH LIVE CHECK-INS AND CHAT SUPPORTED BY NET LOGGER. Download the software by clicking on the NetLogger title above.

Ham Radio Deluxe

HRD is hands-down the broadest piece of control/logging software out there and the BEST part is that it is completely FREE! You may wish to consider making a voluntary contribution after you see just how powerful this package is! Auto-uploading to eQSL at completion of contact, export selected log entries to ADIF plain text or Excel formatted files. You also get rig control, digital modes and SSTV operations (using the Digital Master 780 software built in!), satellite tracking, QRZ look-up, etc. etc. etc. Ham Radio Deluxe is the Cadillac! Give it a test drive!

N3FJP Logging Software

Also out there are the free logging programs by N3FJP. Visit his website at www.n3fjp.com for more information about his contest and general logging programs!

CCN Logger

Written specifically for use with the Century Club nets, this software can support other nets and the program author Dean Davis (N7XG) supports the use of the program for other nets. Live net check-ins, QSL printing, and log file output are all present. Log entry export is supported. For all intents and purposes this software does everything NetLogger does but does not include a chatbox client.

Online Contact Logging

Logbook of the World

The ARRL sponsors Logbook of the World (LOTW). It is a free service and is the fastest way to earn ARRL-sponsored awards. Simply register and complete the TQSL signature process then you upload your logs (using TQSL to digitally "sign" them) and you get nearly instant credit for your contact (provided the other station has already submitted the log entry). We encourage you to register for LOTW and to upload your contacts as soon as possible after completing them!

eQSL

Check out www. eqsl.com! They also offer a series of awards which are based upon logged contacts with other eQSL users who have the "authenticity guaranteed" status. Getting AG status is similar to the LOTW digital signature program and requires registration and completion of an easy validation process. There are several means for completing validation including both online validation and by mail. If you are validated on LOTW you can also submit that for validation on eQSL (this is the easiest method AND it is instantly verified requiring no waiting time!).

We will be happy to add supporive information for any software!!!
